Man Finds Military Flare While Harvesting Oysters In Chesapeake Bay

CHURCH CREEK, Md. (WJZ) -- A man harvesting oysters in the Chesapeake Bay Thursday found something quite unexpected: a military marine flare.
The state fire marshal's office said the commercial fisherman found the flare in the bay and called officials after returning to his Dorchester County home.
A state bomb squad responded to the scene and disposed of the flare, officials said.
No injuries or damage were reported.
