Man Faces Attempted Arson Charges After Gas Spill At Baltimore's World Trade Center
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A suspect police say spilled gasoline inside Baltimore's World Trade Center over the weekend now faces attempted arson charges.
Police say 58-year-old William McGraw entered the building's basement along East Pratt Street at the Inner Harbor. He's accused of tipping over several gallons of gasoline that was already inside the building to be used for backup generators.
Authorities responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. after smoke detectors detected gas vapors. There was no fire.
McGraw faces a slew of charges, including attempted first and second degree arson.
There was no damage to the building. No injuries were reported.
McGraw is not an employee at the World Trade Center.
