Police investigating death after possible home invasion in Elkridge

BALTIMORE — Police are investigating a suspicious death after a possible home invasion in Elkridge on Friday, Howard County Police said.

Officers responded to the 6000 block of Old Washington Road for a possible home invasion around 10:30 a.m.

After they arrived, they found an elderly man inside the home with "obvious signs of trauma," Howard County Police Department spokesman Seth Hoffman said.

Another person at the residence was taken into custody, but police are unsure of their relationship to the victim.

"So, right now, we're working to find out what the relation is, what actually happened inside the residence," Hoffman said.

Police are trying to get a search warrant to move forward with the investigation, according to authorities.

This story is still developing story and will be updated.
