Man Convicted In Montgomery County Parking Lot Stabbings
BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- A Potomac man charged with attempted murder after two people were stabbed in the parking lot of a Montgomery County shopping mall has been convicted on lesser charges.
WJLA-TV reports that 25-year-old David Goldberg was found guilty Wednesday on nine of 15 counts, including assault and attempted voluntary manslaughter. Goldberg was acquitted on two counts of attempted murder.
Authorities have said the stabbings occurred after Goldberg got into an argument with two other people outside the Westfield Montgomery Mall in November following a near-collision. The argument reportedly began over who had the right-of-way at an intersection.
Police said Goldberg, who had his 2-year-old daughter with him, stabbed the other driver and his passenger.
Goldberg's sentencing is set for December. He faces up to 165 years in prison.
