Major Delays Expected From I-70 Roadwork In Howard County

MOUNT AIRY, Md. (AP) — The Maryland State Highway Administration says road work will likely cause major delays this weekend along eastbound Interstate 70 near the Frederick-Howard county line.

The agency says in a statement it will close two of the three eastbound lanes between state Route 27 and Route 94 by Friday night. The two right lanes will remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

The SHA says crews will replace several large sections of deteriorating pavement.

The agency is urging drivers to consider detours around the work site, using Route 27 and either Route 144 or Route 26.
