Jury Convicts Woman In Dupont Circle Hit-And-Run

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Maryland woman has been convicted of voluntary manslaughter in a 2010 hit-and-run crash that killed a woman near Dupont Circle.

Prosecutors say a D.C. Superior Court jury found Jorida Davidson of Chevy Chase guilty Wednesday. Davidson was previously convicted of other charges in the same incident, including leaving the scene of a collision involving injury and driving while under the influence of alcohol, and sentenced to more than three years in prison. But the jury was unable to reach a verdict on the charge of voluntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors presented evidence that on Oct. 7, 2010, Davidson was driving a Lexus SUV when she fatally struck 24-year-old Kiela Ryan.

An attorney for Davidson did not immediately return a telephone call Wednesday. Sentencing in the latest case is set for September.
