Judge In Freddie Gray Case To Hold Hearing On Witness Disclosure

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- On the first day of trial for Officer Caesar Goodson, the judge will hold a hearing about whether prosecutors wrongly withheld information.

According to our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, newly unsealed documents filed by both sides revolve around the second man placed inside the police transport van after prosecutors say Gray was severely injured.

Goodson's attorneys say Donta Allen's attorney contacted them last week and said the state had concealed for over a year that they met with Allen last May.

Police said Allen told investigators Gray was thrashing around the van, but Allen publicly recanted that statement and said he only heard a faint tapping.

Prosecutors dismissed the meeting as inconsequential, and say they do not intend to call Allen as a witness.
