Johns Hopkins to Offer Dozens of Employees $36K to Buy Homes

BALTIMORE (AP) — Johns Hopkins University is offering dozens of its full-time employees $36,000 grants toward buying a house near its east Baltimore medical campus.

Andy Frank, special adviser to the university's president, says the grants, paid for by the school's "Live Near York Work" program, are part of a larger effort to bring new life to the Towns at Eager Park development area.

The grants will be available during a one-day sale Sept. 10. Most of the new homes that are part of the program are 42 units at The Towns of Eager Park.

The new three-story brick-front, one-car garage homes are priced in the mid-$200,000 range.

Grants will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Buyers need to bring their employee identification with them on the sale day.
