Jeremy Conn: What A Home Stand For The Orioles
The Orioles went 7-1 on the home stand with a sweep of the Red Sox, a series win against the Yankees and a 2 games sweep of the Phillies. They are now 2 games above five hundred and 2 games out of first place. It seems like everything is clicking right now. The starting pitching has been good and with Weiters, Reimold and hopefully Parmalee hitting well, this team could be looking down at the AL East in the near future.
The impressive thing about the run is that they did most of it being a man down. Manny Machado is having an incredible season in the leadoff spot. He looks like a complete 5 tool player, showing off his power and speed this season. We haven't talked about blunders in the field because the defense has looked great. The Orioles are beating the teams they are supposed to and they are not embarrassing themselves at the plate.
