Escaped Inmate Found At Prince George's Co. Home

HILLCREST HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland corrections officials say an inmate who escaped a minimum security prison has been found at the home of an acquaintance.

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services says Larence Godfrey was recaptured Monday evening in Prince George's County. Officials say Godfrey scaled a fence to escape Dorsey Run Correctional Facility in Anne Arundel County early Monday after covering the razor wire with blankets.

Prince George's County police say officers responding to a tip that Godfrey was at a Hillcrest Heights home surrounded the building and caught Godfrey when he ran out the back. Police say Godfrey has been returned to the correctional facility.

Officials say Godfrey was sentenced to 20 years in 2002 and was expected to be released in 2016.
