Hogan Choice For Md. Agency Not Moving Forward Due To Health

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Gov. Larry Hogan's initial appointment to lead the Maryland Department of Natural Resources is not moving forward due to health considerations.

Charlie Evans was not among the list of Hogan's cabinet appointments that were sent Friday to the Senate, which confirms cabinet appointments.

Hogan will be making another appointment to replace Evans.

Erin Montgomery, a spokeswoman for Hogan, says in an email that Evans has not been put forward as the governor's appointee to lead DNR due to health considerations and the demands of a full-time schedule.

In a statement, Montgomery says Hogan looks forward to working with Evans to take advantage of his significant expertise to achieve the administration's goals.
