Hit-And-Run Suspect Crashes Into 3 Squad Cars In NW Baltimore, Police Say
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A hit-and-run suspect hit three police cars before being arrested in northwest Baltimore on Friday afternoon, city police said.
Police said an officer on his way home saw a hit-and-run around 3 p.m. at Palmer and Thorndale avenues.
As the officer followed the suspect, they hit two unmarked police cars and one marked patrol car.
The patrol car was disabled due to damage, police said.
Jia Jones said she was on a break from work when someone, presumably the suspect, in this case, crashed into her car and fled.
"He hit the back of my car and he kept going," Jones said. "Yes, I'm mad. I worked so hard for my car. I just got my car two months ago."
"It is really sad how somebody can hit someone's car and then they can run away and not make sure they're okay, there could have been a kid in this car," Christin Carter, a witness, said.
Carter is an expecting father and said he worries what would have happened if kids were in anyone of the affected cars.
"If I had my kids in the car, I would want someone to stop them, you know?" he said.
Officers arrested the suspect at the corner of Towanda Avenue and Druid Park Drive.
No one was injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
