Hearing Scheduled For 4 Officers Charged In Freddie Gray Case

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A pre-trial motions hearing is scheduled for four officer charged in the death of Freddie Gray.

Sgt. Alicia White, Officer Garrett Miller, Officer Edward Nero and Lt. Brian Rice are all set to appear in court on January 20, 2016, at Courthouse East at 2:00 p.m.

Judge Barry Williams will hear a motion to strike the court's order compelling Officer William Porter's testimony during White's trial.

Judge Williams will also hear the State's motion to compel a witness to testify pursuant to Section 9-123 of the Courts and Judicial Proceedings article.

Prosecutors indicated Thursday they want to call Porter to testify against all other officers charged.

Jury selection was set to begin this week in the trial of Officer Caesar Goodson, the van's driver, but Maryland Court of Special Appeals delayed the trial so they could decide if Officer Porter would have to testify in Goodson's trial.
