Hagerstown Suns Shop Naming Rights For Field

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Hagerstown Suns say they're seeking to sell naming rights to the field at Municipal Stadium that has been home to the minor league baseball team for more than 30 years.

General manager Chris Easom said Wednesday the naming rights would likely apply only to the playing field, and not to the city-owned stadium.

The team's lease on the stadium extends through the 2016 season.

The Class A Suns are affiliated with the Washington Nationals.

A financing deal that would have moved the team from western Maryland to a proposed new stadium in Fredericksburg, Va., recently fell through.
