Gov. Hogan Will Travel to Israel on High Tech Trade Mission

BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is traveling to Israel later this month as a part of his Open for Business campaign.

The governor's "Maryland Open for Business" promotion took a delegation to Asia and included a maglev train ride in Japan last year.

This year's mission Hogan will travel to Israel, with a focus on cyber security and technology start-ups.

Israel's official YouTube channel features businesses on the cutting edge of the global market. Be'er Sheva is one of the mission destinations, others are Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

On September 19, Governor Hogan will be meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Maryland is competing with more than a dozen other states to secure economic development with Israel.

The delegation will include 25 members of the private sector.

The estimated cost to the state is $120,000.
