Going Around the NFL with Rich Gannon
NFL on CBS Analyst and Former NFL quarterback Rich Gannon joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to preview this weekend in the NFL, Rich will be covering match-up between the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders this weekend. Gannon believes that the Chargers have the upper hand in this match-up. "Yeah they're really playing well and it starts with the quarterback Phillip Rivers. I mean right now he's certainly in the conversation for MVP. He's taking great care of the football and his completion percentage is as high as it's ever been at 70%. And I think a big reason why they're 4-1is they have just two turnovers. They're playing better defensively, they still have a problem running the football but Phillip Rivers has been lights out."
Parody has been a big selling point in the NFL, they old saying of "Any given Sunday" still rings true for every team in the NFL. Rich believes the better teams in the league will start to pull away now that we are hitting the midway point in the season. "Five games into I think there are a lot of teams are still trying to figure out who they are. I think everybody's got something right now you know something they aren't doing well, whether its injuries or they have an issue with the offensive line whatever it is, you are doing the best you can to work through it. The good teams right now will begin to separate themselves from the pack."
