George Martin Weighs In on Roger Goodell And The State Of The NFL
Former New York Giants defensive end, and former NFL Alumni President George Martin joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to discuss whats been going on in the NFL in particular the Ray Rice scandal. Ken Weinman filled in for the vacationing Scott Garceau. Jeremy asks George what his take is on how the Ray Rice situation was dealt with and now he is filing an appeal. "It was handled horribly by Roger Goodell's own admission #1 and the subsequent handling of it put Ray Rice in double jeopardy." Martin believes that the NFL shouldn't have tried to go back and fix their mistake. "It was wrong for Roger to go back and amend that penalty against Ray Rice the way he did. A second infraction would constitute suspension from the league and Ray had not committed a second infraction, Roger was wheeling and dealing inappropriately and you are seeing the results of it."
George was heavily involved in the post 9/11 community in New York and shed some light on what he learned from the victims of that event. also talks about his new book and explained that the people of 9/11 are the "truest heroes and put their life on the line."
