All Clear Given After Contractors Strike Gas Line Near UMD

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ) -- The scene of a gas leak near Fraternity House 1 and Baltimore Avenue in College Park Wednesday morning has been cleared.
Washington Gas crews shut off the broken gas line.
The University of Maryland Police Department had asked people to avoid the area near due to a gas leak.
Police said a contractor struck a gas line in the area.
UMD ALERT: A gas line was struck by contractors between Fraternity House #1 & Baltimore Avenue. Please stay away from the area & follow police directions. Washington Gas has been notified & are on their way to the scene. Additional info will be provided when it becomes available
