Frederick Church Vandalized Just Before Christmas
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- A pastor says her church in Frederick was vandalized just before Christmas.
The Frederick News-Post reports pastor Karin Albaugh says vandals painted on the front doors and brick facade of the Bethel Lutheran Church as well as a sign and banner announcing the church's Christmas Eve service. The graffiti, which was found Wednesday, included the words "Lucifer" and "Satan" as well as the phrase "Death is upon us." Albaugh says the vandals didn't break into the building and nothing was broken or otherwise damaged.
Albaugh's husband was able to remove some of the graffiti in time for the church's Christmas Eve service.
Albaugh says she's unsure of how much fixing the damage will cost. She says the Frederick County Sheriff's Office has been notified.
