Former Terp Drew Nicholas Talks March Madness
Former Terps Guard Drew Nicholas joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn today to talk some March Madness with us.
Drew is most popularly known for his buzzer beating shot against UNC Wilmington to help Maryland advance in the first round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament. Drew is now a College Basketball Analyst for ESPN and he talked about tonight's slate of Sweet 16 match-ups. "I think all four games have the potential to be really really good Sweet 16 matchups. Obviously starting with us (Terps) and Kansas, I think it will be a great basketball game. I really like Miami over Villanova. There's something about experienced guard play in the tournament and they have two fifth year Senior's in Angel Rodriguez and Sheldon McClellan and I think Coach Larranaga does a great job. I love Buddy Hield. I think he's the best player in College Basketball this year without question and this may be a little bit of the Terp-speak in me but I hope Oregon knocks off Duke."
Also in this interview: Drew reminisces about his buzzer beater in 2003 and compares it to other buzzer beaters in this year's tournament.
