FOP Saddened By "Rush To Judgment" In Freddie Gray's Death
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The FOP say they're standing behind the six officers charged in Freddie Gray's death.
Meghan McCorkell has more.
They say they are upset at what they call an egregious rush to judgment. They said the officers were acting reasonably while doing their jobs and they are shocked and frustrated at the charges and the officers will be vindicated.
"No one condones police misconduct," said Michael Davey, FOP attorney. "Let me state in no uncertain terms that all of the officers involved acted reasonably and in accordance with their training. They are truly saddened by his death. These officers did nothing wrong."
"We're not out of the woods yet. We're concerned; that's why I'm out here," said Governor Larry Hogan. "Our concern is there are big protests planned for this weekend."
Davey said he will try this case in a courtroom, not in the media.
The FOP has started a GoFundMe page for the legal defense of those lawyers.
