Flying Dog, Jailbreak Release Beer to Aid Ellicott City Flood Victims
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Two Maryland breweries are teaming up on a new beer with all proceeds benefiting the Ellicott City flood victims.
Flying Dog Brewery and Jailbreak Brewing Company say they will release "Watershed Moment Belgian IPA" next week and give 100% of the profits to Ellicott City.
"I was born and raised in Ellicott City, so this obviously hit home for me," Flying Dog CMO Ben Savage said. "The beauty of craft beer is being able to be creative, nimble and spring to action for incredible projects like this."
The beer itself is a hybrid of Jailbreak's Poor Righteous IPA and Flying Dog's Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA. The malt bill is from Poor Righteous, the hops are a blend of those used in both beers and the yeast is the El Diablo Belgian strain used in Raging Bitch.
"It's been an honor and a blessing to be accepted into the Howard County community," said Justin Bonner, CEO and Co-Founder of Jailbreak Brewing Company. "So when Ellicott City called upon its community for assistance, we felt compelled to help our neighbors in their time of need."
Watershed Moment will be available on draft and in cans exclusively in the Howard County and Baltimore area markets for a limited time.
