Florida Man Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash Near D.C.
BLADENSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Bladensburg.
Police say it appears 42-year-old William Altamirano of West Palm Beach, Fla., was trying to cross Annapolis Road at night when he was hit by a white pickup truck. Investigators say the driver left the scene.
Officers were called to the area just before 1 a.m. Saturday. They found Altamirano in the roadway with critical injuries. He died later at a hospital.
Police say Altamirano was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
Investigators are asking any witnesses to provide information about the crash or the truck that was involved.
