Flooding In Harford County As Heavy Storms Hit Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --  Heavy storms hit central Maryland, bringing flooding across various areas of the state.

There are reports of flooding in northeast Harford County in Aberdeen and Havre de Grace, where 3.8 inches of rain fell.

The ankle-deep water stranded cars in some neighborhoods, as first responders were busy with water rescues.

Havre de Grace Police posted on social media video of flooding in Juniata Street and Ostego Streets.

Kimberly Eiten was in Havre de Grace Sunday night, as drizzle turned into a downpour.

"We got an awful lot of rain, in a very short period of time," says Havre de Grace resident Rodney Johnson.

There was a stretch of Girard Street at South Adams Street that became flooded.

"This road comes up whenever it rains," says Megan Scandrol, from Havre de Grace.

Patios looked more like pools after an onslaught of rain.

On Route 40, cars became stuck in mud from spin-outs.

"The flash flood threat continues overnight," says Meg. "Keep in mind, the ground is very saturated, so with the rain that we've seen, we could see more of those flooding areas."

The National Weather Service says already three to almost five inches of rain had fallen in the Port Deposit, Perryville area of Cecil County. Another one to two inches could occur overnight.

On Monday, Meg says there is a small chance we could see pop-up storms but generally, she says it should be drier in the area.
