Flash Flood Watch In Effect For Parts Of Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the majority of central Maryland.

As of late Sunday night, heavy rain had moved into western Maryland and was tracking east-southeast, according to WJZ's Meg McNamara.

Rain rates of up to one inch are possible with the heaviest downpours.

The Flash Flood Watch is in effect from Sunday afternoon to 5 a.m. Monday and the bulk of the rain should move through before then.

The areas in the central Maryland region that are under the watch are Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Frederick, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties.

A Flood Warning for small streams in west central Anne Arundel and southeastern Howard Counties is in effect until 3:30 a.m. on Monday.

Stream gauges indicating flooding for the Little Patuxent River between Guilford and Crofton.

Our weather remains unsettled for the work week with Tuesday possibly being our only dry day.

Monday will be significantly cooler, with temperatures topping out in the mid to upper 60's.
