12 Units Damaged, 3 People Injured In 3-Alarm Blaze In Columbia

COLUMBIA, Md. (WJZ) — Three people were injured after a 3-alarm fire tore through a Howard County apartment complex on Sunday afternoon.

It happened just before 12 p.m. in the 5800 block of Wyndham Circle in Columbia.

Upon arrival to the scene, officials say flames were shooting from the third floor of the structure. Authorities say it took more than 75 firefighters to bring the blaze under control around 1 p.m.

Two residents and one firefighter suffered minor injures during the incident.

At this time, American Red Cross has been called in to assist due to the extensive damage of 12 apartment units.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
