Home Destroyed By Fatal Fire Goes Up In Flames Again

DEALE, Md. (WJZ) -- A fire broke out at a home on Thursday morning just 10 months after it was being rebuilt from a fatal fire last year.

According to Anne Arundel fire spokesman Russ Davies, firefighters responded to the call after reports of an explosion in the 600 block of Marshall Road in Deale around 8:25 a.m.

55 fire fighters responded from surrounding counties and brought the flames under control within an hour on Thursday.

Officials say the home was under construction after it was destroyed by a fire on March 20, 2014, killing one occupant of the home.

Investigators determined the fire to be accidental and the cause is believed to be a leaking propane heating system used in the construction process.

The damages are estimated at $175,000. No injuries were reported.
