FBI Searching For Man Behind Bank Robbery, 2 Attempts
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The FBI is looking for a man they believe is behind a robbery and two attempted robberies in the Maryland area.
The first robbery occurred June 6 around 12:45 p.m. at the PNC Bank on 2000 Martin Luther King Avenue in SE, Washington, D.C. The suspect passed a note to the teller and demanded money. He received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene.
The next day around 3 p.m. investigators believe the same man attempted to rob a PNC Bank inside the Giant Food Store at 10501 Greenbelt Road in Lanham, Md. He again passed a note demanding money, but left without receiving any.
The latest attempted robbery occurred Friday just before 12:30 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 3200 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE, in Washington, D.C. He entered and attempted to rob it, once again passing a note. But, once again, he was not give any money and left the bank on foot.
The suspect is described as a black male with a thin build and mustache, approximately 5'7" to 5'10" tall, and in his 20s.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
