Family Sues After They Say Student Attacked Daughter On Bus
LANDOVER, Md. (AP) -- The parents of an elementary school student they say was attacked on her school bus in Prince George's County have filed a lawsuit against the county and the public school system.
The suit, filed Wednesday, accuses the parties of negligence and asks for $10 million in compensation after the girl's parents say their 9-year-old daughter was attacked on the bus by another student May 8.
The parents say they first learned about the attack from a student's cell phone video.
The lawsuit lists the defendants as Prince George's County, the Board of Education, a bus driver and the principal and vice principals of the school.
A representative for the school system says the district will review court documents and proceed with the appropriate action. The bus driver is under investigation.
