Eye On The Enemy: Seattle Mariners

The Seattle Marniers are in town this week so Tim Booth of the AP in Seattle joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to take a look at the Orioles series this week against the M's.  Seattle, much like Baltimore, came into the season with high expectations after signing slugger Nelson Cruz to add some fire power to their offense. So far this season the Mariners have hung around .500, Tim talked about if there is some unrest in the fan base. "I think the first month of the season they were mostly because the strength of this team was supposed to be the pitching and that's what struggled out of the gate. You had a couple of starters who weren't very sharp early. The bullpen wasn't very good the first month of the season. But the offense was pretty good those first four weeks and then in the last couple of weeks we've seen a little bit of a shift where the offense has taken a little bit of a downward turn but the pitching has gotten a lot better."

Nelson Cruz is viewed among Orioles fans as the one who got away this last off-season. Tim breaks down Nelly's performance in the 2015 season. "He's come in and he's come up with clutch hits, he's hit the long ball, and he's hitting for average too which I think everyone is pleasantly surprised with becausme most people thought he would be a high .200 right around .300 hitter and he's at .340 right now."
