Evaluation Ordered For Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Grandparents

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A judge has ordered a psychiatric evaluation of a man accused of fatally stabbing his grandparents.

Court records show Washington County Circuit Judge M. Kenneth Long Jr. signed the order Friday. The evaluation had been requested for a lawyer for 19-year-old Joseph William Minoglio.

Minoglio is charged with first-degree murder in the slayings of 84-year-old Joseph Michael Minoglio and 78-year-old Peggy Minoglio on March 15 in the home they shared.

David Harbin, Minoglio's lawyer, tells The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that his client is not criminally responsible and is incompetent to stand trial.
