Ellicott City Celebrates Official Grand Re-Opening Saturday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Nearly four months after deadly flooding devastated Ellicott City's historic district, the downtown area will celebrate its grand re-opening on Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday is a Black Friday alternative, aimed at benefiting independently owned shops.

Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, U.S. Congressman Elijah Cummings, business owners and other officials are expected to be attendance at Saturday's ribbon cutting, scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Welcome Center at 8267 Main Street.

More than 70 restaurants, shops, galleries and offices have re-opened in Ellicott City over the past four months. Entertainment and activities will be featured throughout the day on Main Street.
