Edgemere Bar Stabbing Leaves Man Critically Injured

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man was critically injured Thursday night after he was stabbed multiple times at an Edgemere bar.

Baltimore County Police and Fire personnel responded to the Sparta Inn at 6400 block of North Point Road around 9:52 p.m. Thursday for a report of a stabbing and found a man with multiple stab wounds to his mid and upper body.

The man was transported to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.

An initial investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect argued inside Sparta Inn and it escalated into a stabbing.

Police have located a suspect and charged him in connection with the stabbing.

Herman Elbert Summers Jr., 60, of the 7000 block of North Point Road in Edgemere was charged with attempted first degree murder and first degree assault. Summers is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

This incident is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit.
