Dundalk Teacher Charged In Sex Abuse Of Student

DUNDALK, Md. (WJZ) -- Parents on edge. A Baltimore County teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Amy Yensi has more on the charges the teacher is now facing.

Authorities learned about the alleged sexual abuse in December of last year. Now they have arrested and charged the teacher involved.

Baltimore County police say a teacher at General John Stricker Middle School in Dundalk crossed the line with one of his students.

A police car keeps a close watch on the school after 25-year-old Chad Aaron Hall is charged with sexual abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault.

Parents had no idea.

"That's why I'm a firm believer. I'm not one for the walking and everything. I don't mind. I'm going to be here and pick my student up, my child up," said Chris Diiorio.

"The student told investigators that the contact began in early December and involved kissing," said Cpl. John Wachter, Baltimore County Police Department. "The teacher also showed the student messages on his cell phone which stated things like, 'Do you do more than kiss?'"

Officials are not releasing the gender or age of the victim, but say the teacher also touched the middleschooler.

"In addition, the teacher poked the student in the chest and buttocks area with his finger," said Wachter.

It's still not clear if the student is back at school, but Baltimore County police do confirm the child did not sustain any physical injuries.

At the apartment complex where Hall lives, some neighbors say they don't recall seeing him, but are worried about their kids.

"There's a lot of children that play in our neighborhood. So it's very unsettling to hear that because this is a very nice community and you want to hope that there's good neighbors around you," said Carolyn Gifford.

So far, police only know of this one victim. Hall was released on $150,000 bail.

Anybody with information on Chad Aaron Hall is asked to call Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.
