Dundalk Man Charged In Fatal Crash

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- A woman is dead after the vehicle she was riding in crashed in Glen Burnie early Tuesday morning.

According to Anne Arundel County police, officers and firefighters responded to the scene of a crash on Solley Road at Chestnut Springs Lane around 2:30 a.m. and woman suffering from severe head injuries. Kaitlan Elizabeth Williams, 21, of Winona, Mississippi was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. He was driving the vehicle northbound on Solley Road, when it crossed the centerline, left the roadway and struck a tree and street sign.

The driver, Ronald Williamsen, was arrested and taken to the Anne Arundel County Police Department's Northern District.

Williamsen, 29, of Dundalk,  was charged with homicide by motor vehicle with intoxicated, DUI and other traffic charges. The cause of the crash appears to be excessive speed and alcohol.
