Driver Pleads Guilty In Crash That Killed 2
CENTREVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Westminster woman has pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol per se after a crash in Grasonville.
Queen Anne's County State's Attorney Lance Richardson tells The Star Democrat of Easton that 24-year-old Kaitlin Ashley Omara entered the plea recently in Circuit Court. Sentencing is set for Jan. 13.
Prosecutors say Omara was driving west on Route 18 on Aug. 11, 2013, when the vehicle crossed the double line and hit a motorcycle operated by Perry Cornelius Hunter of Columbia.
Hunter and the passenger on his motorcycle, Levonne Garvin St. Clair of Gwynn Oak, were flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore. St. Clair died shortly after the crash; Hunter died on Oct. 4, 2013.
Prosecutors say Omara's blood alcohol content was 0.25.
