Dog Killed By Police Officer In Owings Mills

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Police say a dog that attacked a woman who was walking her own pet has died after a police officer shot it Tuesday morning in Owings Mills.

The call to dispatch came in around 9:16 a.m., and Baltimore County Police officers responded shortly afterwards to the 400 block of Doemeadow Drive.

Officers say they tried to calm the dog and used a baton, but it didn't work.

An officer then shot the dog, who ran back to its owner's home and died.

This is a developing story.
