D.C. Man Pleads Guilty To Robbing Banks
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A D.C. man has pleaded guilty to robbing banks in Washington and Maryland, and to possessing child pornography.
Twenty-six-year-old Devontae West entered the pleas Wednesday in federal court in Greenbelt. If the court accepts the plea deal, West will be sentenced to 12 years in prison on June 16.
According to his plea agreement, West and others stole cars to use in bank robberies and used juveniles to go into the banks and demand money.
Prosecutors say West took part in five robberies between March 20 and May 22, 2013.
Authorities also say West had pictures on his cellphone of himself having sex with a 15-year-old girl he told to rob banks.
