Dan Duquette Discusses The Current State Of The Baltimore Orioles
Orioles Executive Vice-President of Baseball Operations Dan Duquette joins Ed and Steve to discuss the current state of the Orioles. Coming off two postponed games, the Orioles won both games of a double header, sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates. As of May 2, 2014 the Orioles stand at 14-12.
Ed asks Dan has Matt Wieters found his groove? Dan said that Matt has always excelled when batting as a righty and struggled as a lefty but Matt has really found his balance. He is hitting well from both sounds of the plate.
Steve asks why Steve Lombardozzi was sent down instead of Jemile Weeks? Dan said that Weeks has excellent on base percentage and has excellent speed. The Orioles were looking for someone who can do that for him but he is sure that Lombardozzi will be back with the team sooner than later. Dan adds that they want Schoop to stay up with the Orioles so he can get everyday major league at bats.
