D.C. Sisters Killed In Crash Left 10 Kids Behind
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A District of Columbia family is trying to figure out how to care for 10 children whose mothers were killed in one of the most horrific crashes in Prince George's County in decades.
Sisters Tameika Curtis and Typhani Wilkerson were killed Friday when a Mercedes-Benz plowed into the back of the car they were in at a stop light in Oxon Hill. The sisters were passengers in car that a close family friend was driving. Their friend's two children, a 1-year-old and a 13-year-old, and a 21-year-old passenger in the Mercedes-Benz also were killed.
Speed and weather may be factors.
Family members tell The Washington Post that Curtis had eight children, including twins and a 6-week-old baby. Wilkerson had two kids, a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy.
