D.C. Police: Man Found Dead In Attic May Have Killed His Roommate

WASHINGTON (AP) -- District of Columbia police say they're investigating the possibility that a man found dead in the attic of a house in the Shaw neighborhood last week might have killed someone else.

D.C. police told The Washington Post on Monday that they're investigating a statement made by the homeowner, who is in custody.

According to court records, Jeffrey Neal, 21, told investigators that during his fatal struggle with 22-year-old Leon Young, Young blurted out that he had killed a third roommate.

The third man, 23-year-old Delano Wingfield, was reported missing by his grandmother June 3.

Police say Young had been dead about a week before his body was found.

Neal is being held on a charge of second-degree murder pending a preliminary hearing July 8.
