D.C. Congressional Delegate To Address Women Pot Entrepreneurs

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The District of Columbia's delegate to Congress will address a gathering of women who work in the marijuana industry.

Democratic Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton is scheduled to address the District's chapter of Women Grow, a professional network for female entrepreneurs in the legal pot industry.

The District legalized possession of small amounts of marijuana earlier this year. Residents can possess up to 2 ounces of pot for personal use or grow up to three mature plants. It's still illegal to buy or sell the drug for recreational purposes.

Women Grow DC chair Laila Makled says Norton's address on Thursday night will help members understand the legislative process and how they can get involved in policy decisions that will impact their livelihood.
