Inner-loop lanes reopened after crash at Key Bridge on I-695

Crash closes Key Bridge on I-695

BALTIMORE -- Both inner-loop lanes have reopened after a crash at the Francis Scott Key Bridge on I-695 Monday morning, Maryland Transportation Authority said.

The bridge had been previously shut down Monday morning.

The agency tweeted around 11 a.m. that traffic is held in both directions due to the crash, and that an injury response was on the way.

Drivers should anticipate extended closure into the afternoon hours, officials said. MDTA said around noon that US 50 westbound has delays 2.5 miles prior to the bridge.

The extent and number of any injuries was not immediately clear.

As of noon, crash response and investigation was ongoing.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
