Hearing Postponed In Texting-Fatal Crash Case
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A western Maryland woman has had a court hearing postponed on charges she was texting behind the wheel when her car struck and killed a bicyclist in January.
Twenty-four-year-old Nadine Rager of Hagerstown was charged in March, about six weeks after the hit-and-run collision that killed 47-year-old John Bushman.
Rager is charged with manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and unlawful text messaging.
Bushman was a forklift operator. He was killed Jan. 29 while riding his bicycle along West Washington Street, also known as state Route 144, just west of Hagerstown.
