Code Orange Air Quality Alert In Effect For Wednesday

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A code orange air quality alert has been issued for the Baltimore-metro area for Wednesday.

This means air pollution around the area may become unhealthy for sensitive groups including: children, people suffering from asthma, heart disease or other lung diseases and the elderly.

"The dew points... are in the uncomfortable to downright oppressive range," according to WJZ's Meg McNamara. It's feeling "significantly warmer than the actual temperatures" outside, she says.

It's feeling above 100 degrees in some areas, including Baltimore.

Scattered afternoon storms could be a possibility for the third day in a row.
