Checking In On College Park With Johnny Holiday

Johnny Holiday, the voice of the Terps on the Maryland Sports Radio Network, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to discuss where Maryland stacks up heading into the Big Ten and NCAA Tournaments. With the Terps wrapping up their regular season conference schedule, Scott asked Johnny if he can notice a difference in style of play between the Big Ten and the ACC. "Too me it seems like it is a much more physical league and it feels like every night you go out there and play, you've got to go out there and play at your very best. You can't take a night off. In the ACC there is a couple of schools that you can maybe mail it in too because you know you're going to beat them, they weren't that good or that strong. But boy when you turn the page in the Big Ten it's every single night, you've got somebody just as good as the guy you just played."

Maryland's net match-up is against a struggling Nebraska Cornhuskers team, a lot of analysts have said for this to be a trap game for the Terps with Number 5 Wisconsin coming to the Xfinity Center after Nebraska. Jeremy asked Johnny to discuss what he sees in the Cornhuskers. "The thing about Nebraska, is that they lost three of their last five games. In three of those games they did not get out of the 40's, they just do not score a lot of points. In the other two games they've scored 50 and 55 points. 3-Point shooting has killed them, they're like 29% and that's where Maryland has had some problems in the past in defending the three. I think whats going to happen in these next five games they've got and they got three games at home, I think they know whats in their reach now."
