Charm City Cakes Adds Horseshoe Casino To The Mix
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A new deal for the "Ace of Cakes." Duff Goldman is taking Charm City Cakes on another new adventure.
Jessica Kartalija reports he's trying his hand at the new Horseshoe Casino.
For more than a decade, Duff Goldman and Charm City Cakes have been baking their way to the top with the hit Food Network show "Ace of Cakes."
He already has a line of cake baking supplies. Now he's adding another venture to the mix.
An edible slot machine could be the icing on the cake.
"We're happy to announce a partnership between Charm City Cakes and Jack Binion's Steak in our casino," said Chad Barnhill, Horseshoe Casino general manager.
Horseshoe Casino, which is set to open later this summer, has made a point to hire local employees and include Maryland-based brands like Tark's Grill, Lenny's Deli and Heavy Seas Alehouse.
"When Horseshoe came and opened up, they asked us to be a part of the Horseshoe family. We're really blessed, we're really honored," Goldman said.
Construction of the new $442 million casino has generated some 2,000 construction jobs and 1,700 permanent jobs in Baltimore.
Charm City Cakes joins restaurants like Johnny Sanchez, Guy Fieri's Baltimore Kitchen & Bar and Jack Binion's Steakhouse.
"Chef Aaron, John Besh, Guy Fieri and me, we're all really good friends," said Goldman. "We're all on the same network. We all hang out. We all kind of think alike. We all kind of have the same sort of quirky sense of humor. We're all very, very, very passionate about our food."
The new casino is set to open August 26.
Duff is very busy. He donates a lot of his time to charity work and has a few new shows now in the works.
