Chad Johnson Checks In From South Beach

Former NFL Wide Receiver Chad Johnson joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora and he discussed his post NFL career, the state of the Cincinnati Bengals and even a little CFL talk. Scott kicked things off by asking Chad to give his thoughts on how things are going in Cincinnati and if he believes the Bengals will ever get over the hump. "They're 0-6 in the playoffs, and before anything else you have to understand how long it has been since Cincinnati was able to get to that point. Now they're been able to get to that point consistently year in and year out. So right now I will say the Bengals will consistently go to the playoffs every year. To get over the hump it comes from one person and that's the quarterback play. With AJ Green being out, with them getting over the hump all comes down to Andy Dalton and his decision making. His decision making will get them where they want to. And that's all it is and that will come with maturity, time and repetition."

Duron Carter, son of NFL Hall of Fame Wide Receiver Cris Carter, is leaving the CFL's Montreal Alouette's to join the NFL as a free agent. Carter is viewed as a can't miss prospect who the Ravens have shown interest in. Chad was his teammate in Montreal and gave his thoughts on Carter's future in the NFL. "He's NFL ready right now, and he's a number on receiver right now. I don't think people understand the talent that Mr. Carter possesses. One thing about me you know me over the years, you know I don't bite my tongue. Things that players as far as a receiving stand point, things that people need work on, I'll be the last to say it and be able to say it publicly and be able to give you facts or reasons why that he is a number one receiver right now."

Johnson has squared off against the Ravens multiple times in his career; he talked about facing a stout Ravens defense. "The Ravens defense is basically built on confusion. It's basically based on confusing the quarterback, and making him do things he doesn't want to do or showing something that you think you're getting ready to see and at the snap showing something completely different."
