Two children injured when car crashes into Anne Arundel County dance studio
BALTIMORE-- Two children were injured when a car smashed into an Anne Arundel County dance studio Thursday morning.
Caution tape, bricks and broken glass surrounded the front of Davy Dance Academy in Cape St. Claire in the aftermath.
Dance students were in the facility when the driver of a black Mercedes was trying to park, but continued forward, struck the curb and crashed into the building, police said.
Two of the young dancers suffered minor injuries from the shattered glass. The driver was uninjured.
"Anytime that somebody is hurt, that's a lot harder to deal with," said Sean Becker, who owns a law office next to the dance studio.
Becker said in March 2023, an elderly driver accidentally crashed into his office.
"It was the same as next door," Becker said. "I mean the whole front came out. We had to replace the whole front here. Then, a few months before that, it happened at the Dunkin' just down the strip here."
The dance academy posted to its social media page thanking everyone for their kind words, visits and texts.
Anne Arundel County Department of Inspections and Permits posted a notice on the studio saying it's unsafe for occupation.
It's unclear when the studio will be able to reopen.
