Callers React to Buck Showalter Getting Snubbed

On Tuesday afternoon Sporting News announced that managers Mike Scioscia of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Matt Williams won their manager of the year awards. As you can imagine the news drew the attention of Orioles fans who believe skipper Buck Showalter should have been given the award. Scott, Jeremy and Jason took some calls and gave their thoughts on the subject.

The guys started things off with Chris and Bel Air and he summed up most of what hit the airwaves Tuesday afternoon. "I always call with positive words for the Orioles, but this Buck Showalter thing has just set me off on Facebook tirades, I'm blowing up twitter trying to think of hash-tags to take this thing national. How he did not win that award is beyond me. The Angels with 47 million dollars more in payroll, picked to win the division and barely got the job done...  I'm baffled."

Jab in Hampden also weighed in with his thoughts and he is among those who believe it may be a major market bias. "Showalter, I mean come on you lost your catcher, your third baseman and your other third baseman, your pitcher who you paid 50 (million) too which is a lot for the Orioles, who was basically relegated to lets call it injury...  And you win 96 games in the American League East which is considered most of the time when the Yankees win it the best division in baseball, but this year its not because the Orioles won it."
